Information we collect

We collect only what we need to book, perform, and keep a record of your service:

• Account details: your name, email address, and phone number. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.
• Service addresses: the street addresses where you want your vehicle serviced.
• Vehicle details: make, model, year, and licence plate for each vehicle you add.
• Appointment and service history: the services and products on each booking, along with dates, status, and notes.
• Payment information: your deposit is processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and a payment reference, but we never see or store your full card number.
• Support messages: the content of any ticket or message you send us.

How we use your information

• Create and secure your account.
• Schedule appointments and route our mechanic to your address.
• Charge the booking deposit and, where applicable, issue refunds.
• Contact you about your appointments, including confirmations and status updates.
• Keep a history of the work done on your vehicles.
• Respond to your questions and support requests.
• Detect fraud and abuse, and comply with legal and accounting obligations.

Service providers we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that run parts of our service, and only what each one needs:

• Clerk: user sign-up, sign-in, and session management.
• Stripe: processing the booking deposit and refunds.
• Neon: the database that stores your account and appointment data, hosted in the United States.
• Vercel: hosting and delivering the website.
• OpenCage: converting a service address into map coordinates so we can plan the route.
• Google and Facebook: only if you choose to sign in with one of them.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to make the site work. A session cookie set by Clerk keeps you signed in, and a small preference cookie remembers your chosen language.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and vehicle information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, it is deactivated and your personal details are removed or anonymized.

Some records tied to completed appointments and payments are kept longer when we are required to retain them for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw your consent to further processing. You can update most account and vehicle details yourself from your account.

We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario law. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Security

All traffic to our site is encrypted with HTTPS, access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel, and we rely on established providers for hosting, authentication, and payments. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

International processing

Some of our providers process data on servers located in the United States. When your information is handled outside Canada, it is protected by contractual safeguards with those providers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above. Significant changes may also be announced by email.
